The work, duties and powers of the National Vigilance Center established in accordance with sub-section (1) of Section 37 shall be as follows:-
(a) To collect information on whether the tasks to be performed by the ministries, departments, offices and public institutions of the Government of Nepal have been carried out regularly,
(b) If it is found that there is no regular action by the Ministry, Department, Office or Public Institution of the Government of Nepal, to alert such bodies on the matter,
(c) To monitor the property details and income given by persons holding public office in accordance with prevailing laws,
(d) To keep regular surveillance on places or work where corruption may occur, to make necessary arrangements to check and investigate fraud,
(e) To make necessary suggestions to the Government of Nepal if there is any improvement in the policies, strategies and related laws to be adopted in relation to corruption control,
(f) Arranging a complaint box in the ministry, department, office or public institution of the Government of Nepal; (h) Obtain and update the necessary details or information related to corruption from the agency or official who investigates the crime related to corruption,
(i) To send any information received regarding corruption in writing to the concerned body,
(J) Doing or having other actions related to corruption control.
(k) To carry out other tasks prescribed by the Government of Nepal.
